Fitness from Science is a different name.  We don’t mean there is a magic pill that will instantly transform you from where you are today to the fittest you’ve ever been. What we do mean is that there is a science to fitness and it is through that science that you’ll be able to improve your fitness and achieve the fitness goals you’ve set.

The intent of this website is simple.  To give you the tools that will allow you to gain strength, improve flexibility, eat better and lose weight sensibly, if that is your goal, and give you a road map to maintain that fitness and wellness for life.

Our focus is on helping women and men 50 years young and beyond to truly enjoy and gain the most in their golden years.  Helping you live an active lifestyle in your 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and beyond is our focus.

Most active people will at some point suffer an injury.  We’ll show how to avoid or at least minimize injuries and should you become injured show you how to assess an injury, select the appropriate treatment expert, if necessary, and how to determine the best way to treat it.

Our community of experts have all “been there and done that”.

Let’s tell you something about us.

bruce-whippleBruce Whipple is founder and managing member of Fitness From Science LLC.  Bruce’s interest in health and fitness dates back to losing his mother to cancer when she was far too young being only 50 years old and Bruce was just 18 years old.  This dedication to health and wellness was reinforced several years ago as his wife, Pat, successfully battled and beat breast cancer.

Bruce has spent the last decade studying health, nutrition and human performance with those that have “been there and done that” as evidenced by Fitness From Science’s team of experts.

Bruce took these lessons and applied them to pursue many running and cycling events as he entered his 50’s.  Starting with 5K runs Bruce eventually ran The Hartford Marathon, Chicago Marathon and the New York City Marathon. After marathons Bruce pursued cycling completing many distance events and ultimately a 100 mile “Century” cycling event.

The mission of Fitness From Science and Bruce’s personal philosophy is that there is a science to health, wellness, fitness and nutrition.  Every claim will be backed by science and absent of the far too common marketing “hype”.
